Question about 2003 Volkswagen Golf

Seat Ibiza Spot TDi 2003

Immobiliser keeps cutting in intermitently. Have tried the key without the buttons and that worked for a couple of days but now both keys just start the engine and it then dies immeadiately. All the central locking etc works fine.

Any ideas how i can cure this?

I am suffering from the same problem. The immobiliser intermittently decides not too work and I've been told by my dealer that 'll probably have to change the dashboard cluster at the cost of around £550 plus labour. The strange thing is, sometimes when i bang underneath the steering column in frustration, it somehow works although not all the time. I've had it looked at by an auto electrics and they can't find any fault or loose connections. I'm thinking of changing the car but would rather not as the mechanics are great. Car is a Seat Ibiza 1.9 tdi 130 bhp - 2003. (Golf engine)

This is a far too common problem on this particular model and normally needs the cluster changing. I delved into the problem myself and found the large green connector and the back of the panel was dry jointed. I resoldered the joints and not had a problem since. I decent auto electrical specialist might be able to check this out for you. Hope that helps

Seat Ibiza 2006 car keeps cutting out whilst driving what is the cause of this

Could be so many things need more info. When it cuts out, does it act as if it's running out of fuel-- sputtering, or just dead on/off? If the latter, I would suspect bad ignition module, coil, crank/cam sensor. If the former, could be fuel pump, relay, filter. These intermittent problems can be tricky.

How can you bypass an antitheft system on a 2002 tdi jetta?

If it is not a new key fob, it sounds to me like the immobilizer is activated. So, all the lights on the dash are working now? Is there a flashing key on the dash lights? One of the resets that works is put the key fob in, and turn ignition on without starting it, and leave it 15 minutes. And try again.

You have no belt at 1.2 ibiza, you have a timing chain. At a service they should check it at 60.000 km.
