Question about 1994 Toyota Camry
At high speed the car runs quite well but the car jerks(engine misfires) when car stops at traffic light and when car is in reverse gear.
Mechanic has changed spark plugs, plug wires and a put in a reconditioned distributor. He also changed some setting on the Electronic circuit board. Problem persist although the car runs much better at high speeds.
I also noticed that since he did the above, the car does not produce as much exhaust fumes and I can get about 550 km per full tank when in the past I could get only about 440 km per full tank.
Have your mechanic check the timing belt marks and the condition of the belt itself. If the cam is retarded a 1/2 tooth due to age, this will create this problem as well. Have him also check for any vacuum leaks at the intake.
