Check for screws in the sunglass holder and also right behind the computer display. Many of the ford overhead consoles are not held by screws, just locking tabs. If you do not see any screws then give the console a gentle tug from the front corner. I have some pictures on how to do so (as well as a repair solution) at my website www.autoclockrepair.com
Good luck!

there,it helps to have factory trouble charts to use &
not guess, as I'm afraid some shops still do

Fuel gauge on my 2004 f250 will suddenly drop to empty and it changes the ambient temperature gauge to a really low temperature. It will some times change to the right fuel level after I turn it off and...

IT IS SIMPLE YOU HAVE A DEFECTIVE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UINT INSIDE THE GAS TANK. REMOVE THE GAS TANK AND REPLACE THE SENDING UNIT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, ABOUT A 4 HOUR JOB WITH A HELPER.

Ambient sensor gauge stopped working correctly at the same time the AC quit

The ambient temp sensor is related to the AC function, if the HVAC system thinks the outside temp is too low, the AC will not be turned on. You probably have a defective temp. sensor. It is easy to change and relatively inexpensive. It is located on the underside of the top radiator support almost in the center (just to the drivers side of center).
The car dying at a stop light can probably be solved by cleaning the throttle body. Make sure that both the front and rear sides of the throttle body are cleaned. And also disconnect the battery during the cleaning process, this will reset the computer and allow it to relearn to the cleaned throttle body.
The compass issue is another separate issue and may just require a recalibration. I don't know what the procedure is but try Googling the subject.

2004 f250 powerstroke console with compass, temp,

This is a very common problem with many of the mid 2000 Ford truck and SUV overhead consoles. The console is very prone to internal failure. If the dome lights work but the compass unit does not then it is a faulty computer unit. I offer a reasonable repair service with a lifetime guarantee, check it out: www.autoclockrepair.com
There is a bunch of useful info there. Drop me an email if you have questions, thanks!
