Brake lights wont work. Replaced light bulbs and one plastic holder. Still nothing.. did not check brake switch yet.

Hey. I replaced the brake switch to 94 bmw 318i...at first my rear window brake light started working, and i wiggled my tail light bulb holders and the tailights are working now. It was the brake switch. Thank you,

-   iv got e36 bmw 1994, every time i use to pres the brake to stop on the dash board use to show the fog light on but the brake light use to work . now the brake lights not working and i think and the reversing light not working at all,dunno whats the problem?not sure where about is the switch? -   Guest

-   Same problem, went to an auto salvage yard and pick up new plastic bulb holders and put them in with a fresh bulb, that seemed to do the trick, make sure you clean off the metal plates where the plastic bulb holder fits into the tail light assembly. -   Guest

check the brake light switch on the pedal first, if thats ok, check the tail lights again, where the bulb holders twist into the panel on the circut board connectors normally deterioate. cheers mike.
