Van only stalls right after filling the tank.. any ideas?

So, I am actually posting for my sister inlaw. She is my best friend and just simply at a loss. She has a DC and it runs like a dream. The only issue she has with it is that right after she fills the tank (doesn't matter what brand of gas) the van will stall. Tonight it stalled and took a few times to get it to start. Once it's start again, it's just fine till the next fill.
I have to admit, I don't know for sure the year of the van but it's newer. Its not like a 10 year old van or anything.

Thanks for any ideas

You first step is to confirm the van has fuel pressure when the problem occurs sometimes fuel pumps only fail at certain conditions there maybe debris in the tank being stirred up when she fills please rate -jeff

1997 Sport 4.0l 6 cyl. Where is computer located?

which one, ?
the EFI , ECM/PCM?
its located where the book says
best is to leave it alone, i bet its NOT BAD !
better is to SCAN it, ever heard of scan tools?
all scan tools made work on this car.
in your last post i answered all that. and the FSM book posted.
posted 100 + times, here.....
the engine can fail for spark, (scan it)
the PCM will cut fuel for many reasons,
loss of spark, loss of CMP, loss of CKP sensor pulses.(logic)
if fuel pressure is 0 then there will be no fueling or not spec pressures. if there is no fueling but spark is good the engine will run on test fuel. as you spray fuel.

to answer the question
best is to leave it alone. best of best.

Overheating, stops running after a few seconds

First thing I would do is check the computer for trouble codes.
It could be a long list of things, including loss of fuel pressure or spark to the plugs.
Let me know what you find out.

2000 Outback 5MT. Oil in plug well. Also loss of power after letting the clutch out, then runs smooth. No water in oil. Is this a headgasket, clutch, or both?

You have a couple of issues. Oil in plug well is usually a valve cover leak. The power loss - you're going to have a competent shop/tech actually visually inspect, there's too many possibilities for me to suggest without actually seeing it and I don't want you chasing "ghosts"

Is the black shrowd on 08 fo cus door mirror

Most of the time you can replace just the mirror housing for cheap if you can reuse the mirror. As for as just the black shroud i would recommend checking out they have a very wide selection of just about everything needed to rebuild a damaged vehicle. If you cannot find one there i would recommend a reputable salvage yard.

My 2004 passat TDI is giving me an exhaust leak sound noise.

This vehicle certainly does have a waste gate and they do have problems. However the waste gate diverts exhaust internally so you would not hear any unusual noise if it was being problematical. Also if the expected boost from the turbo did not match the actual boost there would be a check engine code and light on. If the hoses between the Turbo & the intake have a leak there may be a similar loss in power depending on the extent of the leak. It would be best to scan the engine computer to see if there are any Codes.

I have a VW Golf 1.6 FSI 05 Reg, some times it drives like a dream and sometimes it feels like is struggling with loss of power, also, I lose power when the blower is switched!!

could be numerous of thing and the list can go on, especially at times it run like a dream than other time it run horrible. Go to auto zone and have them plug it to computer for free and see if will throw a code, this way it will narrow it down instead of guessing and buying parts hoping that will fix the issue, this can be very expensive and there is no way to test the parts, beside checking the basic, plug, wires and coil. the computer will help narrow it down than guessing. then re post and one of us will try to walk you through it.

Epc light comes on some times with loss of power

The best way to determine the problem is to get the trouble codes read.
The most common issues are the brake switch (actually on your brake pedal) and the MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor). Since you're experiencing a loss of power I would definitely go with the MAF.
If you were having trouble shifting out of park (if you have an auto) I would say brake switch (this switch has been recalled by vw 2x).

Getting the fault codes read would definitely narrow it down, but I'm betting on the MAF.
Please rate/vote! Thanks!
