Van only stalls right after filling the tank.. any ideas?

So, I am actually posting for my sister inlaw. She is my best friend and just simply at a loss. She has a DC and it runs like a dream. The only issue she has with it is that right after she fills the tank (doesn't matter what brand of gas) the van will stall. Tonight it stalled and took a few times to get it to start. Once it's start again, it's just fine till the next fill.
I have to admit, I don't know for sure the year of the van but it's newer. Its not like a 10 year old van or anything.

Thanks for any ideas

You first step is to confirm the van has fuel pressure when the problem occurs sometimes fuel pumps only fail at certain conditions there maybe debris in the tank being stirred up when she fills please rate -jeff

I have had this problem in the past with a motorbike of mine and the cause was **** in the fual filter blocking the flow of fuel at low revs(less flow pressure) i simply took off the filter and cleaned it out, this was easily done on a bike but on your car you should be ok using the fuel system cleaner, id recommend 'Redex'just be careful how much you mix with the fuel, try filling the tank first then add the cleaner.
Hope this helps,

Our 2002 Honda Odyssey seems to be using more gas than usual. What are some tips on saving gas with a van and what is the formula to calculate the actual mpg that this van is getting so I can actually...

Gasoline is reformulated in the winter months and in colder weather it is not uncommon to have a drop in mileage. When calculating mileage it is best to do it over a number of fill ups - not one. An air bubble in the tank can make it look like you are getting better mileage than you are and the next fill up could look like a major drop. Calculate it over about 10 tanks - divide total miles by total gallons used.

Nissan micra water problem again

If you have lost a substantial amount of coolant, filling the reservoir doesn't fill the system.
If you don't have a radiator cap (many cars don't any more) it is necessary to pass through several cycles of warm-up and cool-off before all of the air in the system is displaced by coolant.
A pain in the **** when no fill is available on the radiator since it was simple to correct with that arrangement; you simply removed the cap, started the engine, watched the water/coolant level while the engine warmed up and once the coolant showed movement (circulation) you simply added coolant/mix a few times until it was full again. The movement of the visible water/coolant meant that the thermostat had opened and coolant was starting to circulate throughout the engine and radiator.

1987 Nissan 200SX cranks but hard to start

Thats a classic sign of having your engine run too rich. That puffy layer of ash is carbon which means your engine is not burning gas properly or completely which means is misfiring thats why the car is shaking. Try having your oxygen sensors checked and make sure you are using good fuel.
