I want to change the spark plugs on my 1997 Mitsubishi V6 Diamante.

Hi, to change the spark plug, remove the engine cover and intake manifold plenum.
Remove the spark plug cables.
CAUTION: When pulling off the spark plug cable from the plug always hold the cable cap, not the cable.
Remove the spark plugs.

Go register your car at autozone.com,they have a fairly comprehensive tune up guide for your vehicle,and no you don't have to remove the intake manifold from the motor.
Well seeing as u don't specify the year or engine u have in ur monte carlo, it's kinda har to tell u where they are.If it's a V6, the 3 rear sparkplugs are behind the engine under the manifold. Most times the rear engine mount must be removed and the engine preid to reach the sparkplugs from underneath.
