It certainly could be converted but the master cylinder would probably present more problems than the slave cylinder. It would not be worth the time, effort and expense and it would need more head scratching and engineering than making a good job of the original cable clutch.
A cable operated clutch is very reliable when it is properly repaired - with a few exceptions.
In the UK we drive on the left of the road. Cars that are designed for left hand drive (driving on the right) tend to be "converted" to right hand drive as part of the production process. Some conversions are good quality solidly engineered sensible conversions and some are cheap, shoddy chewing gum and string efforts that are short lived and troublesome, though repairs made with thorough attention to detail returning things to a good as new condition are usually quite successful.
Japan of course also drives on the left and could similarly "convert" the design for foreign markets. Your Isuzu could be one of those vehicles and the root of your trouble.
Hi Sarah
Believe it or not the thing that causes most of the running problems on the C4 is the brake light switch,It is located under the left side of the dashboard 4 wire plug,If your C4 is left hand drive then it will be under the right side of the dashboard,These switches fail and cause all sought's of problems including running problems, silly messages coming up on the dashboard,But the brake lights still work,The switch is very cheap 17 pounds in the UK and 15 minutes to fit.
why not do as yiou would if you were in the uk as if you were going to france say and fit tape to the head light to change the direction of the beam the when you return go to the local car breakers or e bay and get a set of head lamps also 1 other thing drive on the left. lol
For Audi A4 the fuse box is located on the left side of dashboard behind a plastic cover (for left hand drive vehicle). On inner face of the plastic cover you will find the fuse diagram.
because of the costs/time involved,i would recommend you sell the car in the uk and buy another in eurozone.(why do you think a lot of lhd cars in the uk, stay that way???)
the cost of making this major change is prohibitive. you are better off to sell it as someone like a rural mail delivery person would love it. then go out and get another car for yourself.
