How do i depressurize the gas tank? on a 1995 nissan altima

check your fuel rail for fuel pressure. see if your getting enough gas.

replace your accelerator cable.

no it has a closed system so no smell of petrol so their is something wrong with the suction pump and the pipes that come from teh engine compartment

Evap System Vent Valve

its may be a loose gas cap or maybe a bad sensors. it must be put on a scanner to determine the fault.

The fuel pump for these is in the fuel tank. Lift up the rear seat and you will find an acess panel with 4 screws and some wires going through it. From there, gently remove the wiring harness and fuel lines. Take a screw driver abd a hammer and lightly tap the ring to the left(to unscrew) changing positions as to not put to much pressure on one area.

It could be a fuel line or the sending unit on top of the fuel tank.

Under passenger side of truck follow the fuel line from the gas tank. Changed mine a couple of years ago. Very messy, especially if the line is pressurized. Depressurize line before you change it or it will spray gas everywhere.

Most of the time there is an inlet screen/filter in fuel tank attached to fuel pump. But there should be another filter between tank and fuel rail. it should be located on the firewall, so if you work backward from an injector toward the gas tank you will bump right in to the filter along the way.

Your fuel filter could be stopped up, injectors could be stopped up or there may even be a fuse for fuel. May also be your fuel pump, which is generally in the fuel tank. If you turn your ignition on, don't crank it, see if you can hear a whining noise coming from the gas tank neck(where you put the gas in). Hopefully that is NOT your problem.
