Question about 1997 Chevrolet Blazer

1 Answer

Theft deterent I jumped power from the batery to the fuse box on the inside of the car. It was hot inside the car but the dome lights still didnt work and the car still wont start. So, I think its possibly a theft deterent system. Is there anyway to check? And if its in the computer or wherever is there a way to bypass it or just turn it off?

Check if you have spark, if not look around the colum and see if the main ignition wires are tapped into by some aftermarket alarm, if so jump them back and try to start it, will this crank and not start or no crank at all? -jeff

Location of relay for radio and dome light and power locks

There is no relay covering all 3 of these! Most likely a fuse blown, check fuse box inside and under hood of vehicle!

Dome lights wont go off and alarm keep flashing

from the looks of this
pull fuse 21 for dome and
fuse 11 for the theft deterant
then see if it still runs ok an has all the lights you need to git it to a clinic maybe.

Why doesn't my Toyota Camry have any power to the inside of the car.

it only takes 2 thing to fix this, a voltmeter and a schematic
does car run.?
headlights work, MUST BE, you said INISide ONLY (IMPLIED)
FOR SURE ITS fuse blow. my wild guess is you dont know how
many fuse boxes the car has nor their location
the operators guide covers this. lost that?
so does the TOY FSM book, factory service manual.
the main fuse box has split loads. and power feed that can be 3 paths , hot all time (head lights) ignition 1 and ignition 2 feeds.

the inside of the car has many lights, even warning lights
dome,, dash dimmer lights gauges and their lamps.
and more. so if all are dead, that means.......
no power to the ignition switch or
no power out of the switch,
if no power in , to swtich that usually means fuse blown under hood
all power comes from there, and the PDC box there.
check all fuses with a voltmeter.
and bingo. oops this fuse has 12v in but 0volts out.

No power and batt is good

My first guess would be a dead cell inside the battery, or a blown fuseable link between the battery and the fuse box.
Someone would need to check the battery connections and fuse box with a meter.

1959 pontiac 2 door bonneville. how do you hook up the wiring for the dome light? two wires coming down from the light. driver side door switch has two terminals. pass side door switch has one terminal.???

Negative from the dome light to one terminal on the door jab,and the other terminal, hook to,and run to the other door jam on passengers side. The hot wire from the dome light goes to the hot side on the fuse box.A additional light switch can be installed,to turn the dome light on from inside the car,by running a ground to the switch, and from the switch to the ground side of the dome light.
