The MOST LIKELY cause of your problem is a bad blower motor. The next time it quits, look up under the right side of your dash and "thump" on the motor housing with your hand, if it starts blowing again when you do this, replace the blower motor.
NOTE: It would be easiest to go ahead and remove the lower trim panel from under the dash (even if the blower is working at the time) so access to the blower motor housing will be easy when it quits again.
