my 1992 jagurar is puttering and backfiring but only after driving it for about five miles but mostly after putting in gas i used regular unleaded but am now using premium it starts to slow down and will not accelerate to the point it shuts off when i get down on the pedal but i can shut it off for a minute and it will drive fine for a while

- 1993 xj6 4.0-we replaced fuel pump-wire seemed hotter then normal that goes to pump, ran smooth for awhile, now it is spitting a not accelerating, pulled off waited 5 minutes got it home fine let it run, it cut off again almost like a fuel problem, we cleaned the tank, made sure no water in gas, everything. it seems like a part time fuel problem help please.scneumann- scneumann
