Sounds like a half shaft. Reach around behind each wheel and see if there is play in the shaft that leads from the wheel to the transmission. There should be no play. Other possibility is a bearing hub. Jack up car, grab the tire at 9 and 3 o'clock. Shake wheel if there is movement not from the tie rod then it is the bearing hub.
Often, the disk brake pads make this kind of noise, they may also continue this noise untill they retract. Question is: As you slow down wihout using brakes, do the noises return? If not, likely it is only brake pad noise (have you been driving on a fresh gravel or dusty road?).
When does the noise occur, while driving only, or driving and idle, in gear, or in neutral and park? If it occurs all the time (while driving and at a stand still in cold weather) it could be the fuel pump. If it occurs only while driving, it may be a wheel bearing. Describe the noise (humming, grinding, whirring, etc), and what is the mileage on the Pilot? Answer my questions so I can fine tune my answer. Thanks!
With all due respect, what the H___ are you doing driving in 2 Feet of SNOW? The rumbling noise you hear is most likely caused from Snow being impacted in the CV Joints, Wheel Wells and anywhere else from freezing in place after driving in the "Deep Snow". The solution is to have the care raised on a Hoist and Pressure Washed to remove all Snow and Ice from the the entire Bottom Side of the Vehicle. It then should be allowed to dry thoroughly in that building before being driven. Additionally, if any noises occur upon exiting that facility turn around and have it repaired before it costs you untold thousands of dollars to repair.
Next time you have "DEEP SNOW" wait until the Roads have been cleared, salted or sanded and are back down to pavement before driving on them.
I had a similar problem, and it turned out to be (of all things) an acorn that had found its way from the fresh air intake beneath the windshield into the drum-shaped blower fan, which is located under the dash on the passenger's side. It is easily removed (I did it myself TWICE with the help of a hand-held mirror) by removing the three torx screws that hold it up. Try this, and you might be surprised what you find in the blower. Hope this helps.
