I recently purchased a 2001 AUDI TT Quattro Roadster and I also purchased a Bentley Service Manual for this car but I am not able to find a breakdown that helps me understand this problem. The wires for the wind deflector were unhooked at the switch and after hooking them up, the deflector starts to rise on the drivers side but not the passenger side so obviously, it hangs up and will not come up. Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks. Raggsmillion @ CCSImarine@aol.com
Re: My 2001 AUDI TT Quattro Roadster Wind Deflector
Hi, it is the drive band for the deflector. There is a single motor behind the driver, this drive the two screws via a band. It i shard to see but when the roof is in the down position remove the trim and you can see both screws which raise the glass. The glass is seated within single metal bracket, if you feel follow the top of the screws you will find the band.
I had the same problem the glass would only raise on the drivers side then stop with acracking sound, which was the trim luckily, on inspection I found the drive band had worn away, so the motor ws only driving one side.

There won't be - the secondary air injection system is strictly for cold-start emissions. You won't see any effects in driving, but if you have any sort of emissions check in your state's inspection, you will fail.
On a 2001 Audi TT Quattro the fuel filter is located forward of the fuel tank, in the right rear wheel well area. The fuel line clamps are a bit tricky. The change will improve performance. The owners manual does not even list changing the filter. But do it! use a Fram, and it fit perfectly. Good luck.
