Question about 1997 Chevrolet Blazer

1 Answer

Won't Start I have a 1997 Chevy S10 Blazer. It will not start on its own. I have to pour gas into the intake butterfly to start it and then it runs flawlessly. I have checked the fuel pump pressure and with the key on but not running the pressure is 40psi. When it is running the pressure is at 55psi. After this problem began the "service engine" light came on and I had it read at a local parts store and the code indicated that it was running lean on all cylinders. I greatly appreciate any insight into what the cause of this problem might be. Thanks!

You need to run a fuel pump pressure drop test, after the engine is shut off the pressure should not drop more than 5 PSI, if it does the fuel pump check valve is defective and you will need to replace pump. You haven't picked up a tank of bad gass have you? it happens from time to time.

97 chevy blazer w/ 4.3 won't start unless i pour full directly into it....what is causing this. was driving and it just stalled ...fires but won't turn over completely

if you can put fuel in throttle body and it runs. then it is not getting any fuel. check your fuel pump fuse and the relay, if ok, then you may have a bad fuel pump or a plugged up fuel filter. check filter and fuses first. good-day !!

2000 chevy s10 blazer cranks but won't start????

Check for gas or spark problem on the engine. Check that starting fluid does start the car for a few seconds before dying, indicating a fuel delivery problem, like a fuel pump or circuit to it.

If the car won't start with starting fluid sprayed into the intake, then the ignition system may be at fault, or engine timing.
