Re: how to deactivitate stock car alarm
YOU need to locate the RESET alarm button. They are in different places but the most common are UNDER the steering wheel column, glove box, drver side kick panels or in the middle console someitme hiddedn. The button is small and not sure if your alarm is factory or after market. >HOLD the BUTTON in while the key is in the off postion >TURN the key to ACC while holding the button.( this should reset it) >or put he key in ACC1st then hold down the button for a about 5sec. >or your car manual will have the instructions

Dealer needs to plug in a computer to reset unless you have the computer key. If you have the key with the chip, unhook the battery, lock and close all the doors. Tap the battery cables together then hook the battery back up and unlock the doors with the key. If you don't, then the alarm will keep going off. Low battery can also trigger the anti-theft system.
Try unlocking it from the passenger door (with the key). the driver door lock has a weak connection that wears out, then the car doesn't "know" you unlocked it from driver's side.
Do you have the key fob to unlock it? If so, use it (unlock) then open the pass. door.
Please let me know if this worked!
this happened to me recently with my 96 grand cherokee. the battery got drained by the alarm going off randomly at night. i pulled the fuse for the horn so at least my neighbors would only be bothered by flashing lights. then i couldn't jump the car because the alarm was still going off. i hooked my car to jump it to another car, and then i had to deactivate the alarm first by putting my key in the driver side door and unlocking the car. then i left it hooked to another car and still getting power but didn't jump it for at least 5 minutes in case the computer needed to reset. then it jumped fine. from what i've read online, this is a common problem that can be avoided if you stop using the power locks and always manually lock and unlock the doors with your key. its a little annoying, but apparently the power locks are connected to the alarm issue. hope the same works for you.
We have a similar problem - it doesn't go off when we open the door,
but sometimes the alarm light stays on after we open the door and then
when we put the key in the ignition to start the car the alarm goes
off. The only thing we've found to shut the alarm off is to get out of
the car and put the key in the trunk manually and open the trunk. Then
after we've opened and closed the trunk, the alarm disables and then we
can unlock the doors (which I believe is the step where the alarm
disables) and then we can start the car without a problem.
