Question about 2001 Chrysler Town & Country

1 Answer

2001 Town and Country LX

I am having transmission problems whereas it leaks transmission fluids from the bottom but just recently when I started it and not putting it into gear it has started blowing black smoke and it won't idle off goes up and down like someone is revving it then it cuts off after a few seconds of this. Does anyone know what this problem could be?

If there is a vacuum attached to the transmission from the motor it could be sucking transmission fluid from it.

Hi I just purchase a 2001 Chrysler minivan The car turns on but wont drive and is leaking oil transmission Help me wats the problem?

Without transmission fluid the car wont move, it mostly leaks at pan gasket, the transmission cooler line or front transmission seal. I have to say you may be safe to add 1 quart ATF 4 transmission fluid, being in front of the vehicle looking in the engine the dipstck is where you add transmission fluid it on the right hand side yellow handle. pull the dipstick out get a funnel that can help you add transmission fluid if the leak is not that bad this can help you get to shop that can fix the leak and put you on the road

I have a 2007 Town & Country that leaks power steering fluid from what seems like the bottom of the car. It sounds like fluid is coming from a hose but I'm not sure which hose. Can it be the pressure...

depending on the options of the vehicle you have a pressure and return line that goes from pump to steering rack. some have a fluid cooler. but most likely it is the pressure line that is leaking. they use rubber and metal lines together. bad hose clamp, rusted line, or hole in rubber line.

P0740 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction, it could be a sensor starting to go bad, have the code cleared and see if it happens again, have you ever had your transmission fluid replaced, (do not have it flushed) might want to do that as a Preventive Maintenance item.

A/C problem could be the A/C controls on the dash are not working properly, the doors inside the dash are not closing completely, letting warm blended air in on the driver's side.

Transmission fluid type ATF+4.

The filter is located on the bottom of the transmission, inside the oil pan.
