Went to gas station after half hour drive. Went to start wouldn't start. Coding p1610 lock code. Why would it do this after I already drove it. Doesn't make sense to me. 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5

Tech notes This code is usually triggered when a not registered or damaged key is used to start the engine. When the starting operation is carried out five or more times consecutively with the same unregistered key, the system will lock. If the problem occurs try disconnecting the car battery for about 30 minutes and then try starting the engine with a known registered key. If the problem persist you have to have the dealer erase the code and reprogram the keys again.

If problem persist after disconnecting the car battery, try the following:

ESCAPE FROM LOCK MODE
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Turn ignition switch ON with registered key. (Do not start engine.) Wait 5 seconds.
3. Return the key to OFF position.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 twice (total of three cycles).
5. Start the engine.

I have a 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5 with a "Check Engine" light - a Code of 0171, "System Too Lean". Car engine is revving high, up and down constantly.

code p 0171 refers to system too lean===causes --intake / exhaust leak---AIR system---MAF/VAF sensor fuel pressure ---pump---injectors/s --HO2S sensor
two things stand out
air leak inlet manifold --check for vacuum leaks in vent controls , transmission actuator , brake master cylinder and vacuum hoses
heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) faulty
basically the ECM gets a report from the HO2S and adjusts the air /fuel mixture accordingly so if that unit is faulty or the wiring is faulty then the ECM cannot maintain correct mixture
also the ECM gets reports from the mas air flow ( MAF) or volume air flow) and accordingly also along with the HO2S report adjust the throttle position as well
I would be taking it to an accredited service shop that works on your make of vehicle and discuss the code and the causes with them so that it can be fixed

My engine light light is on i took the car to O`REILLY the scan the car and the code is PO171,i just want to know was is that code for

p0171 is system to lean ( bank 1 ). one of the most common causes for a p0171 is a dirty mass air flow sensor ( MAF ). just clean or replace maf sensor. use maf sensor cleaner found at most auto parts stores. do not use any other cleaner. disconnect air tube just ahead of sensor, and then spray the cleaner through the screen at the wire element on the maf sensor,let cleaner soak in for several minutes. then give it another shot of cleaner. let it set another 5 minutes. then reconnect air tube and start engine. or you can follow directions on back of maf spray can. if the lean code comes back, you may have to replace maf sensor. unless you have a vacuum leak. Ford p0171 AND p0174 lean codes can also be set by a bad EGR differential pressure sensor. These sensors have a very high failure rate once a vehicle has more than about 60,000 miles on the odometer or is more than five or six years old. hope this helps !
