Inside blower fan speed control only works on #4 (maximum blower speed). Settings 1, 2 and 3 do not run the blower. Fuses are OK. What could the problem be to keep settings 1, 2 and 3 from working?

OK this problem i had in my 1993 lincoln continental, the fan button dial thing is electric, your would have to fully take it appart to see what gave, but the only easy solution to your problem would be installing a light dial from homedepot yes the ones that dim the lights, and connecting that to your blower wires, then drilling ahole in a good spot under the dash where you can ajust it, that will give you all control slow and fast, wile always being on on 4 in your car. The light switch is the only thing that would be able to work for the amout of amps going thru it, anything else will cost more then 6 dollars so if you want a quick fix this is it. or you will have to go to a junk yard rip out a whole new unit and replace it, depending how much you like the car.

2000 Chevrolet Impala blower motor work from 1-4 but not on 5th speed why?

The blower motor relay is energized when the Blower Motor Control is set to the High position. This removes the blower motor resistors from the circuit and battery voltage is then applied directly from the HVAC BLO fuse (RH IP Accessory Wiring Junction Block) to the blower motor though the relay switch contacts. The blower motor then runs at high speed.

HVAC Blower Controls Circuit Description
The blower motor is a variable speed motor. The motor operates at a higher rate when voltage is increased to the maximum level.
The blower motor resistors reduce the voltage supplied from the A/C FAN fuse (LH IP Accessory Wiring Junction Block) when the blower control is set at low and medium speeds (speeds 1-4).

Holden Vectra - air con fan only works on maximum setting. If I switch to 1,2 or 3 nothing happens. I have checked the fuses, but all look ok?

It's common for interior blower speeds to only work on high when the blower resistor goes out. Usually located close to the blower motor. An electrical box/module with wires going to the fan motor. Goggle how to change it, and you'll know whether you can.

HOW TO GET TO FUSE BOX UNDER GLOVE BOX ON 2003 BMW X5

  • You have to open the glove box and turn the two finger switches 1/4 turn.
If the blower isn't working its probably not the fuse anyway. The part you need to replace is the fan speed resistor.

A/C control 1 and 2 not working...No air coming.. but 3 and 4 ok...

You have a faulty blower motor resistor. Usually they're located on the blower motor or behind the A/C controls. The resistor controls speed settings. When they become faulty (common) certain fan speeds don't work or all speeds may fail at once.

2005 gmc sierra heater fan quit working. I lost the fifth speed months ago and a couple of days ago lost the other four, the first day the fan would come on sometimes while driving then quit after a while...

1-4 speed are the blower motor resister . It controls all 1-4 speeds, also it's under the passanger side dash around fan, the 5th speed runs off a fuse the is located in the fuse box. It's one of those square fuses , not the relays but fuses. The resister will run $15 and fuse $5 . Good luck. I have replace these before

Speed fun control airconditioned doesn´t work property.

Two possible areas I would check using an ohm meter. First is the blower resistor which is usually located by the blower motor and looks like a cement rectangle or a ceramic tube with wires attached to it. The resistor should have very low resistance but should not read open from the common lead to the other terminals. If it tests good test the continuity of the fan switch. Some cars have a fuse for the high and low blower speeds so you can check your fuse diagram and look for two blower or fan fuses. Good Luck.

I have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler and the heater fan stopped working for all the fan speeds. The fuses are fine. How do you know if it is the blower resistor or the blower motor?

If you bypass the resistor pack and connect the motor directly to the fused 12v supply then the fan should run at maximum speed. If so, it's the resistor pack that's blown: a very common fault on a huge number of makes and models.

Where is the fan in a 2000 dodge caravan

I am assuming you are asking about the Blower Fan and not the Radiator Fan?
The Blower Fan is located below the Passenger side Dash. It is inside the black Duct work.
May I ask what the problem is?
Is the Blower working or only working on High? If only on High then the Blower Motor is fine and the Blower Motor Resistor that controls the Low to High speeds is bad. This is located behind the Glove Box in the Dash and on the firewall. Remove the Glove Box to access. It is approximately 3 1/2 inches by 1 1/2 inches and has 3 to 4 wires going into it.
There is also a Front Blower Motor Relay located in the Relays and Fuses.
Before replacing the Blower Motor, get back with me (for free) and let me know. This may save you alot of money in the long run, saving you from purchasing parts you may not need!
Let me know if this helped, and let me know what the problems (symptoms/signs) are.

MY HVAC fan stopped blowing. Checked all the

Check the blower motor speed control resistor pack is ok.
(The resistor pack is usually located in the blower fan ducting in the air flow).
Check condition of electrical connection terminals on the blower motor circuit - these terminals pass considerable current and over time may fatigue overheat and loosen.
Check operation/replace any blower motor control relay,
Check the blower motor will run if +12v directly applied to the blower motor.
Check operation of the blower motor speed control switch is ok.

Heating Fan dosent work on the first two settings

you have a bad Blower Motor Resistor, you will most likely have to get this from the dealer, and it is located right around the blower mounted to the blower housing. Good luck and don't forget to vote. Thanks
