How can I remove the cluster so I can replace a lamp for the odometer?

Most all car models today require replacement of the entire cluster. I had to replace the one in my 2003 Silverado simply because the speedometer and tach wouldn't register - even though everthing else did. The good news is that you can order rebuilt ones from many auto parts stores.

The odometer stopped working. The speedometer works but not the odometer or the trip meter.

inside the cluster is a min-computer that controls both of these

therefore, assuming you do not have a wire loose then it appears you will need a new cluster assembly

Speedometer works but odometer doesn't on 1992 Grand Marquis. what could it be

There are two plastic gears that drive the odometers from two small electric motors (one for resettable and one for total) and they wear out. I found them on the web for approx. $70 (for $0.50 worth of parts !), but they did fix the problem. You will need to remove the instrument panel and disassemble the odometers, but it's not too difficult.

The speedometer in my 1995 grand marquis has stopped working. The cruise control however does work. All other instruments and instrument lights work. The speedo was working and slowly went to 0. All fuses...

This is electronic and is either the sending unit from the trans mission, unlikely since the cruise works, or a burned circuit in the instrument cluster for the Speedometer and Odometer. Double check your connections to make sure they haven't come apart somehow but you may want to have a shop look at this and isolate the problem.

Odometer gears

it isnt easy!,the whole unit is peened, and factory assembled,it's built to be non-servicable,get another unit from a junk yard,I have fixed many, and it's a LOT of work!!. in your case it may be simple as replacing the "drive shaft"(it has a worm gear on it).
good luck!!
