Hi Larket, I think your ignition key has lost its encodement. You'll need to contact a dealer to have it re-coded. Regards Johngee10

My 2003 Mercedes SLK230 Kompressor. once in a while, i'll go to start it, turn the key, all the dash lights work, but engine doesnt crank pls HELP!

Have you had the battery itself tested? Features like the lights and power windows do not use a lot of battery power. A starter motor will use at least 9 volts on a 12 volt battery. Batteries usually only last about 5 to 8 years before they start to fail, less if you have 'start-stop' fitted to your vehicle.

My car will not start it makes no noise when I turn the key the horn works the lights come on but the motor will not start what is the problem

Several possibilities Darrell. Make sure shift is in park (if an automatic) - wiggle the shift lever while trying to crank engine. If manual transmission, make sure clutch pedal is depressed.
You said lights work but have someone see if they dim when trying to crank engine. A low batt will blow horn or turn light s on but if batt is low the lights will dim a lot when trying to crank.

Wont start making clicking noise light horn radio come on

The clicking noise is the starter solenoid trying to operate but not enough power to work. The battery must be weak.
Try charging the battery first then retry to start.
Autozone, Sears, and others will check and charge your battery free.
Autozone also has videos to show what to do.
Hope this helps.

If the engine will not crank in park, will it crank in neutral ?

Changed my battery and the cable ends and now my 94 ford ranger will not start. It makes a click noise and nothing else. I tried tapping on the starter and it still will not start.

SO, would it crank before you changed the cables and battery? When you arc the solenoid does the starter actually crank?

My 3000gt does not start. it makes a clicking

1. Loose battery or earth connections on bodywork/engine.

2. Starter stuck in mesh. (rock car backwards and forwards in gear to free)

3. Solenoid stuck. Tap lightly with a hammer.

4. Starter relay in or near fuse box faulty. Replace relay.
