2000 Chevy Venture. Passenger side sliding door stuck in closed position 98% of the time. It's a fluke if it does open. Cannot open manually or with buttons.

    Was this recalled?

I have the same problem. Any suggestions on how it get the locks to open?

Driver side sliding door lock is stuck in the down position and the door won't open. All other locks function on this 06 Caravan.
I am able to pull up with pliers very hard and the door will open, but it takes a lot of effort and the lock won't disengage permanently.

Your problem is the door thinks that it is already locked and closed. You need have the sliding door unlocked, have someone pull the handle as if they were going to open the door and then use a tool to "Open" the latch that normally would hold the door closed.

The lock on the driver side sliding door was stuck unlocked. Now it stuck locked.

you should clean the locking mecanism and then lubricate with WD40. If this is a van, my van has a sliding power door on the pass side and a manual slider on the drivers. alot of times the drivers locks and dont lock like it has a mind of its own but it always works with the drivers controls. and then the next time i dont think about it and it works. now it also has child proof locks on them, a little plastic lever you slide up and down as to put in a lock position so child cant open from inside and down to allow door to open from inside. double check this. it wont unlock with the key or power? you might have to take off inner door panel to manually unlock this and get it lubed

The child locks are stuck it only opens from the outside

there is a slider switch on the door(between door and frame) that you can lock or unlock the child locks to prevent them from opening the door from inside but still can open door from outside----just slide the lock switch to enable or disable the child lock.

if they are stuck/stiff---you may have to remove the door panel for repair.

Usually they work free with a liitle lubricant(WD-40) to slide easier.

Driver side door lock won't open or lock using remote.

if it moves even a little bit when the button is pushed it wont be a fuse issue, you more than likely have a weak door lock actuator

From the back of the front door slide your hand in the sliding door crack and find the child-safety-lever. Push the lever up and/or down while moving the sliding door manual lock/unlock button to the up position. Also works on the non-powered sliding door.
