Question about 2003 Honda Element

Heater Fan Resistor

My ac started acting up and then no ac/ no fan or outside air. When I took it to the mechanic they charged it, but the problem wasn't solved. I explained it only seems to work on High, and once you turn it down it just cycles on an off. They say I need a heater fan resistor. I need help because I need to get it shipped overseas so I can get my car fixed, but I am not finding that exact name for the item. I don't want to buy the wrong item (not to mention I just have to find the right one!). I googled it and there seems to be links for that name, but once I go to the site, there is nothing that matches. Anybody in the know?

This part probably cost about $2 to make so the price seems excessive to me and electronics is my field.

This seems to be the right part # but I would call a Honda dealer to check the price difference since there will be shipping & handling added to the ~$40 price.,0&groupid=10074&subgroupid=20020&componentid=61538&makeid=12&model=Element&year=2007&catalogid=1

Ac fan not working, ac is cold but fan won't blow air into cab...

check the fan itself to see if it works. check the heater fuse first! if all is ok, you probably have a bad heater fan resistor. to check blower, please go here on pc for info on blower.

2002pontiac montana incab filters have been removed will this affect outside air coming in or prevent incab heater air circulation switch from working

If your fan only works on high setting then your blower motor resistor is not working. Google replacement if blower resistor for your car and they are usually a quick and easy fix.

Unable to get my 2003 chevy blazer to start. has been acting funny. the hot air has been running cold and takes the ac a long time to get cool. the engine runs hot.

get a mechanic to have a look ,water level low hence the heater is cold and ac taking a long time to cool because the fan isnt starting up when ac is turned on ,Sounds like your fan is playing up and you may have cooked the head gasket??

Low air flow from AC/Heater fan on '98 Chev K2500

check the cabin air filter behind the glove box, if it is ok or is not equipped (was optional) then the problem is a clogged ac evaporator core.

No heater blower fan speeds

Let the engine run, turn on heater, and get out and open and close the hood a few times, slamming it. If it starts to blow, you got a bad heater blower motor, with bad brushes. The resistor you are talking about, is about the size of a pack of cigarettes, with 2 screws, and has some white plaster looking stuff on the other side. I would replace that too if you get the blower out, because I do not think it will come out without first removing the blower. Resistor is about $20-25.00. Blowers usually go bad between 120-140k. I change the resistor every other time. The switch goes bad too, and it will only work on every other position. To change that, disconnect the battery, and take out the fuse box, and all the faceplate screws, and that will get you started. The switch from a dealer comes with the led lights and is $40. If you buy aftermarket, you may not get the lights. I have 2 1991 models, one with 360k, and one with over 500k. This has been my experience with the heating system.
