Fuel filters usually are under the car and run along the frame or unibody. Should be round cylinder shaped with lines going in one side and out the other.
My 2004 Optima did nt have filter exactly. There is only a filter bag type device on the inlet to the fuel pump. The fuel pump is located in the gas tank and is accessed by rolling back the carpet in the trunk... I have 165K on mine and never changed this filter. No parts listed at NAPA or other store for filter. Just put some injector cleaner into the gas tank every mont and should be fine
