I recommend getting a conversion kit, if there is one availiable, and following the installation instructions.

How do i replace my hand brake cable on my ford falcon XH ute

wait a bit ....is it rear disc or rear drums on that ute

will assume its under dash hand brake pull lever tyoe

the disc setup may have single cables for each rear
rear disk brake cable is approx $ 150

if your XH it is close to the XE and XF set up drums
a complete one line loop cable outer and inner
with plastic grommets along the back chassis rail ( they break )
so the one inner cable works both rear handbrake shoes

hand brake cable is a shorty

undo the adjustment thread
just below the hand brake cable point up somewhere above the gearbox
(drums )
after new cable fitted
drums are adjusted with the old school way with the handbrake adjuster tool
handbrake cable adjusted

then the handbrake handle when pulled out to hold needs14 plus clicks
comes out a long way for some weird reason
on drums
if cable adjustment is done wrong onrear drums the handbrake cable will come loose in the drum as you drive along

Tune up for 98 tahoe with almost 200000 miles

for one, a "cheap" tune up is never recommended for any vehicle. always use quality parts and when doing it, always replace the plugs, wires, and depending on model, distributor cap and rotor, those all are not expensive and save you down the road from disaster. SSBC or BAER are good systems for doing a drum to disc conversion, they have Great instructions and brackets to make the switch over less painful then it used to be. hope this makes it a little easier for you

Brakes seized stood for long time

Because of the brakes locked on you could try having a few friends rock the car backwards and forwards making sure the handbrake is off and and gear lever in neutral , otherwise you will have to remove the wheels,1 at a time, and making sure the handbrake linkage is released hit the brake drum with a good hammer around the outside edge, till the drum can be levered off, if you have Disc's at the front, its best to remove the Caliber by undoing the retaining bolts, After so long you will have to renew most of the braking system,ie new rear shoe's and brake cylinders, at the front New pads and new Disc's rebuild the Calipers with new pistons and seal's,
good luck.

I have a 1985 Mazda B2200 diesel ute. The front wheels smell like they are burning and the rims are very hot. Is this a disc brake problem or bearings? Or would it be something else?

seized brakes. If there is excessive brake dust then definitly brake problem.

Replace the rear brake drum system with disc brake system

Rear discs and callipers are much smaller. You are going to need the right stuff to do this or you will have too much effort to rear and they will lock up.

How do i fit disc brakes on a 1966 beetle that has drum brakes?

You will need to purchase a drum to disc brake conversion kit. Not that difficult to install. The kit should have everything you need. Check with EMPI. Good VW parts source.

No brake fluid flow to right rear brake

the stratus is know for clasped rear brake hoses .This stops the flow off brake fluid. try opening the brake lines at the master cylinder that go to the rear.pump up brakes first! if you got fluid than check the brake line if this is rear disc brakes on the line at the rear will be a built in proportioning valve.if drum loosen rubber hose line before the rubber part to see if you have fluid. If you do replace the brake hose! On you 74 challenger by the way i love dodge! any way on the valve there is a small button on the front of the proportioning valve that pops out it needs to be tap in lightly. also hit the brake peddel kind of hard a couple off times if that doesn't work. thanks for your question

p.s that hex bar on the is a junction not a proportioning valve .

My 2006 Mazda Tribute makes a pulsating noise when I'm almost at a complete stop. Front brakes have been replaced at dealer but noise has returned.

If you have drum brakes in back instead of disc brakes, that could be your problem. Very common noise with drums. Pads, springs, could be sticking, or pistons if it is disc brakes
