It seems that you are having connecting issues. under the dash are lots of connectors and through vibration the often times wiggle loose. also they get a fair amount of heat exposure from the climate control. this makes them brittle and they tend to short out. looking under the dash and checking fuses and relays would be the first step in isolating the problem. please rate this solution thanks and good luck.

2002 Lancer CE dome light fuse location

The dome light feed comes from the ETACS ECU. There are four fused inputs: 7.5A multipurpose fuse 2, 15A multipurpose fuse 14 and, in the enngine compartment relay box, 10A DEDICATED fuses 17 and 18. One of these four should apply to the dome light

On the components, you might try a separate ground. See if that helps? Check the battery negative connections. I've seen this even on newer vehicle where instrument cluster or whatever would dim a little when you turn on headlamps. I think it's a ground issue? Just my opinion.
On any component that doesn't work, check voltage and ground, you could try a redundant ground.

Montana van 2002 why the fan speed control switch for heat and air only 4&5 but it is not working on 1,2 and 3 ???

fan switch is more than likely bad. you can try air in a can to blow out any debris that may cause it to lose connection in the switch. thats worked sometimes. but if that does'nt work, the only solution is to replace the fan switch in the dash. thank you for choosing fixya.com

My 2002 Montana Van will over heat while idling, once I start driving the temperature gauge will come back to normal. I checked under the hood and the coolant in the reservoir is boiling and the electric...

These fans should turn on at about 220 degrees, give or take a couple, and then turn back off at about 210 degrees.Fans should also come on when engine is idling with the a/c on [provided the a/c works of course] If the fan[s] isn't running and the gauge is over about 3/4 of the way or will go all the way to the end then odds are your fan's aren't capable of working for some reason. The classic symptoms of a cooling fan not working are what you are describing: Cools fine at highway speeds, overheats at slow speeds. I would start by checking the cooling fan fuses located in the underhood fuse panel. I believe they are marked Cooling fan 1 and Cooling fan 2 and both should both be 30 amp fuses. If the fuses are good then you might have problems with the fan motors themselves. Hope this helps you get it working again!
