Question about Mitsubishi Galant

1 Answer

1990 Mitsubishi Galant GTi 16v DOHC.RHD Partial loss over 30 seconds of electrical power during wet weather. The radio and lights went off then slowing of wipers and also affecting power steering. Some improvement when lights switched to off; car near to stalling. Car parked and left for 48 hours. In dry weather started well but after about 30 secs the radio went off, idling speed slowed then engine cut out. Wouldn't start again but seemed battery was OK - clicking from area behind glove compartment. Any ideas? Regards Steve

Have your alternator checked, it sounds like your not putting out enough volts or amps.

I was letting my 1990 galant warm up one morning and it died after running for 45 minutes, prior to this the car had a rough idle 800-900 rpms and had loss of power and hesitation. I have had ppl tell me...

Take it to an Autozone, Advance or any good parts store and have them do a fault scan. (OBII scan) That will give you EXACTLY what went wrong instead of going by blind suggestions. Throwing parts at it based on suggestions can get costly. Have parts store do scan, they do this for FREE, then you'll know what needs to be replaced/repaired.

1992 VW GTI 16v check engine light???

The light has likely burned out. I doubt if someone removed the bulb. Have that checked before hitting the panic button! Any car with computer controls has a light.

I can't hear FM on the Radio of my mitsubishi Galant 1998

The antenna lead may be the cause of this, or a poor ground to the antenna or radio.

I need a radio code for a 2000 mitsubishi galant

Carefully take the front panel off that surrounds the radio and temperature buttons, it will snap straight out. Wiggle the radio out about two inches, it is a tight fit. Get the serial number off the radio. It is on a sticker on the top, left side. Call a Mitsubishi dealer with the serial number. They will want proof of ownership, so have the title ready. After putting in the four digit serial number, hit the cd button and that enters it.
The code is also written on an antitheft card that comes with the car and may be written in the owners manual in one of the back pages.
