1988 mazda rx7 5speed manual transmission

I have a very annoying problem with this car not starting sometimes, especially when im really depending on it. runs great when i finally get it started, either hot or cold., when it hesitates on firing i can pretty well tell its not going to start "with the starter" but if im in position to where i can drift start it , it starts very quickly.usually within 5 feet. it might start 99times out of 100 with the starter, i hestiate to blame it on the apex seals because the motor was rebuilt recently, less than 1000 miles on motor. and it runs so strong when its running. Thanks for your help

Its your fuel injectors. they are leaking fuel into the cylinder and flooding out the engine. next time it happens pinch off the fuel line where it inters the engine with a pair of smooth jawed pliers and have another person start it... it will fire up quite easily. i had the same probleb and put a manual fuel shut off under the hood. it was cheaper than buying injectors.

I would start by checking the battery to see if it is still working on all it's cells. You can do this buy putting a battery charger with a 2amp setting and a gauge on it to let you know if it is fully charged.Let it charge over night and check the gauge if not at 100% from that long charge I would change the battery. If ok your starter may be drawing to much amps to let the ignition system to fire good enough for starting. If so try changing the starter.

What would cause my 1990 Mazda b2200 transmission to start slipping

Depends on the transmission, if it is a manual transmission then your problem is the clutch, if it is an automatic trans then its internal and the problem is the clutches inside.

I have a 2002 Mazda MPV. When I start it and drive it revs really high. Sometimes i can take my foot off the gas and it will still accelerate, A LOT! Also when it does this it shifts really hard and there...

The transmission is slipping, have it checked for low fluid level, if that is ok then you need the transmission rebuilt or replaced with a factory rebuilt exchange unit.

1988 4runner wont stay in first gear

Transmission is getting old and will start to do this more and more often. Live with it or have your transmission rebuilt. Personally, I would live with it as long as I could. 1st gear isn't bad. If it was 3rd, 4th, or 5th it would be really annoying. Just take it easy on the old transmission and don't slam gears and it could last that way for a lot longer.
