Question about 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I had the same problem, inside the light housing are three contacts, one single and two contacts together, the single one lost the contact with the bulb because it's pressed down and broke the plastic that work as an spring. I fixed soldering a piece of 22 cable from housing contact to bulb housing, is work for me for a long time, tail light housing is so expensive....

Sounds like you have a bad ground problem or shorted wire.Check for bad grounds rusted or broken.
