What type of gear oil do I use in the transfer case of a 1984 Chevrolet deluxe 4 by 4 manual transmission

I know you stated yours is an '84, but my '85 factory service manual says it should take Dexron II automatic transmission fluid.

If in doubt you could always pull the fill plug, stick your finger into the hole, bending it towards the bottom, pull on your finger and look/smell the fluid. If it looks/smells like automatic transmission fluid then that's what to put in. If it looks/smells like gear lube then that's the fluid to use. UNLESS someone in the past decided it was a good idea to put gear lube in, then all bets are off on the accuracy of the "finger test".

Hope this helps.

Gear box oil level

there should be 2 oil plugs. One will be on the bottom of the gear box and one will be somewhere on the side of the gear box. The one on the side is your fill location. Open and remove that plug and fill it with the proper fluid just till it starts to come out the side of the hole.
that is all you need to do

Looks like you have a leaks problem in your gear box. You'll need a clean hand pump to top up your oil. Make sure your pump is clean. In your gear box, there should be 2 ports ( fill and drain). Filling port located upper position while drain is lower.
Inject your oil and check your deep stick after run your engine for minutes. Repeat those steps till you get normal level of oil. Never exceed max level of your gear oil.

I don't know where to put the gear box oil

Most fill/check plugs are located on the top, or side of the transmission. The plug may be unscrewed with a ratchet or a wrench. I would go by the recommended amount of trans oil, but the side fitting can usually be filled up with a small hose until it spills out.

What trans fluid is in 84 nissan pickup manual trans

No transmission fluid are ever used in manual transmissions.
Gear oils are used. And the specification is:
Gear Oil 80/90W

You would need to park the truck on a level ground in order to do this job.
Remove the filler-plug on the side of the gearbox, and using a hand-pump or a rubber hose, fill the gearbox with the specified oil. Once the gear oil starts to flow out through the side filler-plug, stop! The required quantity is reached.
Replace the filler-plug and start the car to check for leak.
Be careful so you don't accidentally get unwanted item in the bearbox.
