Should be held in by 2 bolts, it's not rocket science, take the bolts out and out it comes, make sure to disconnect the battery before you begin.

Removal and installation of starter of 2002 mercury mountainer

Here's the generic starter replacement directions.
Engine should be cool, parked on level surface. Remove negative cable from battery. Remove electrical connections at starter (Sometimes starter may need to be partially removed to access all electrical connections.) Remove any brackets, parts, or accessories that obstruct access to the starter motor mounting bolts. Remove mounting bolts and remove starter. Clean the mounting surface, and install new starter and tighten the mount bolts evenly. Replace wires on starter. Connect battery.
Good luck.

The battery, starter. amd altenator is fine but wont start

Check out this link. This is a common problem with GM vehicles. They have an antitheft system installed already, when they start to get old, the anti theft engages and turns off things like starters, fuel pumps, injectors, ect. This link explains it all and gives you some options to fix this yourself forever. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

I have a Nissan Primera 2002. The battery appears to be fine, although when attempting to start the motor there is a click sound and no engagement of starter motor. What can be the cause of this problem.

Chances are, you have a problem with the solenoid contacts inside the solenoid that is mounted on the starter assembly. It is a very common problem with a lot of the starters used on some Nissan products. Here is a very good site that explains the repair procedure, or you can just have the starter assembly replaced.

How long should it take to install a starter in a 2002 ford excursion?

If you do not have any trouble with removal and installation, it should take about 30 minutes. Sometimes the new starter will have slightly different dimensions and can be a tight situation to connect the wires and can increase the installation time. Hopefully, this will help you to FixYa problem!
