Its the electric actuator motor that opens and closes the fresh air door for the a/c. You will notice the clicking stops when you adjust the a/c temperature setting during the clicking. I got a replacement for my 99 from a junkyard and changed it out. I've seen dozens of complaints of this problem online.....i had thought it was only mine. I guess it was a poorly manufactured part.

It's behind the center console and the glove box. you can actually feel the part while its clicking by poking your finger under the passenger side corner of the glove box and center console. Took me about 1 1/2 hors to replace it but I tinker with cars and other repairs.

You have to remove the entire dash to access the HVAC box. I promise is not a easy or fun job. Everything is really tight and hard to get to. Hope this helps.

How do i remove the fuel filter as to replace it? (1990 mitsubishi diamante)

Mitsubishi did not make the Diamante in 1990, it came out in 1992, and
on the first gen diamante it's located in front of the passanger side firewall closer to the middle close to the bottom

Service engine lights comes on for awhile and goes off. Checked with encode tester and recieved Bank 2 sensor 1 o2 sensor. Is this a for sure bad part? 2003 Mistubishi Diamante LS V6.

You typically would like to do further diagnosis, however on these cars, the Denso sensors are very common to fail, and are the cause of the light 99% of the time, especially if it is the only code set.

Bank 2 sensor 1 is located on the top of the exhaust manifold on the radiator side of the engine. You will need an O2 sensor socket or a small 22mm wrench to remove it

My 2003 Mitsubishi Diamante has a loud tapping sound coming from behind the dash board. It only lasts about 60 seconds and happens each and every time you turn the key on. Possibly a relay going bad???

Many times there is several geared motors in the dash the move the air doors around for the ductwork of the heating air conditioner system. Sometimes even with it doing this you can't detect something wrong with the way it works. To find the culprit with the kick covers removed laying in the floor looking up into the heater area reach carefully up into the area that the noise comes from as you turn on the key. touching the clicking part will let you know there the part is conpared to the others and you might get to look at it with the glove box removed. Once you have the best inspefction done look at the dealers parts man pichture of this part in the HVAC system. Have your VIN with you as they make your car different ways on different days. Air door actuater is what I think it is and some of them are pricey. The reason for the failure needs to be found too as the new one may fail quickly if the cause isn't corrected. A scanner connected to the car may find an HVAC or other fault code that may lead you right to the problem. Not always, as somethings effect others and the root cause is somthing slse.
