Shift cable fix car still won,t start

Sounds like you may have an adjustment problem with the cable. There is an Interlock feature which keeps you from starting your car in gear.

In a nutshell, your car does not know it is in Park or Neutral- the 2 modes which allow the starter to work. You need to adjust the length of the cable to finetune the Lockout. Some cars also require a foot on the brake pedal to allow for starting and these 2 switches work together so that your car can not be started in gear or without a foot on the brake(some models).
