Question about 1995 Chrysler Concorde

1 Answer

Acts like a dead battery but it's not.

It has blown the a/c fuse a few times. Last time it did this I had to pay a mechanic who got it started by using my car key to reset the alarm and showed me how. Now it is acting the same way, resetting the alarm didn't work and niether did jumping it. I was told to look at the relay on the outside of the main fuse box under the hood..... they do not look burnt, they actually look in new condition. What should I be looking for now?

the dome light is draining the batt.
pull neg batt cable off when truck is running to see if the alternator is working correctly. check that glove box, hood,trunk/cargo light is shutting off when they should be.

Wont start sometimes/most times

This could be a multitude of different problems. I'd suggest some simple T&E and find what's going on. Start with the simplest solutions first. Tune up, plugs, wires, air filter, oil change, and the like. Then see how it acts after that.

Going with that, if you still are having problems it's time to go into more detail with your search. Start checking things such as your spark, fuel pump, fuel filter(s), catylitic converter, and even check your fuses for blown fuses.

In the case none of this works, it's more then likely that you'll have to end up finding a decent mechanic. They can start testing other parts such as the cylinder compression, valve adjustments, and even internal wear if need be.

One big question however, if there is an engine light on, get it checked with an OBD reader at autozone, advanced, or the like of auto stores. I hope this helps you out bud.

Engine fan keeps running

It's possible that the fan control relay is intermittently sticking causing the fans to run continuously. This can overheat and subsequently blow the fuse. Try replacing the relay and see if anything changes.

Hope this helps.
