PCV Valve escort 98

When temperature is bellow -20°C, the PCV valve freeze and than oil get out by the oil gage. The first time it do that Ford made a modification on my car it happened in 1999, the problem was solved for 8 years. Last year I change the PCV valve, so it do that again.
I want to know what is exactly the modification they done in 1999.

I've had a 1998 Ford Escort SE for over a year that my son drives. This is the second time in a year we've had a PCV valve issue. A hole develops in the mettle tube just above the PCV and the rubber hose disintegrates just below the PCV. After I replace the PCV valve, I am thinking of wrapping it with insulation. Any thoughts?

Hi, I have a 1998 Ford Escort SE with 2.0

The large end should fit the rubber grommet, so it goes down. The small diameter end should connect to the vacuum line.

Where is the pcv for the 2001 ford escort zx2 2.0 and how do you change it?

With the hood open the valve is at knee level slightly just in front where the transmission bell conects to the engine. In shape it looks like a little elbow. It just slips over the nipple on the PCV valve and the PCV valve is set into the grommet on the canister on the front of the block. --------- this will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

The valve is located under the thermostat housing facing the front of the car. There is very little room to work with here. You'll have to pull the hose up from the valve then pull the valve out.

Where is the pcv valve located on a 2001 ford escort?

Standing in front of the car looking at the engine, if you look to the lower right corner of the engine, it's almost hidden under the engine there.

There is a black tube connecting to the pcv valve there, pull that up and out and you'll find hte pcv valve there.

If you need pictures, let me know.

1990 ford 2.9l in a bronco II- it has no power and oil is pumping up and leaking out the top of the oil dipstick. was told it has a blown head gasket but no water in the oil and the engine does not smoke....

Remove and plug the PCV valve hose with bolt to check and see if this is the issue, many times the crankcase is not venting properly and the PCV valve needs replacment it is inexpensive enough just replace the PCV valve located on one of the valve covers it has a hose going to it.

the oil in the base of the air filter is you pcv valve. the valve is there to let air in, but not oil. when the valve goes bad, oil leaks in.
the water is a different problem. which would be the heater core or heater matrix. replacing it will fix you water on the floor problem
