Instrument Cluster removal

All of the gauge lights have burnt out. How do I remove the black bezel surround in front of the instrument cluster? Removing the top two screws only loosens the top half of the bezel? Thanks.

Pls, I just got a 2000 Toyota sienna Le and I discovered that cluster light is not working, and when the full light is engaged, the car strerio backlight goes off as well. What can I do pls?

If you are meaning that the gauge cluster, IE. Speedometer, Fuel gauge, ect? The instrument gauge cluster needs to be removed and the bulbs replaced. It is not a hard job. Most panels have a plastic "beauty" bezel surrounding the Instrument cluster that MAY or MAY NOT be secured by screws. SOME just snap in place. once you get that off the instrument cluster is held in by usually 4 screws. remove the screws and it comes out. disconnect the wiring plugs, then it can come all the way out. Before you do this go to Toyota And get the bulbs. You can get them at auto parts stores too but Toyota uses bulbs that have colored coatings. You can not always get the coating off and not all(very few in my experience) parts stores have them.so just spend the few bucks more and get them from Toyota.

How to remove instrument cluster

Take the dash apart like you are removing the stereo. Then the black bezel in front. 3 screws on the top recessed into the bezel in front of the instrument cluster. 2 behind the air conditioner/heater panel and it should slide out. 4 more screws holding the instrument cluster in place.

Remove instrument cluster ford focus 2007

First, lower the steering column locking lever and and release the retaining clips holding on the upper steering column shroud with a small flat-tip screwdiver. Remove the shroud. Remove the upper retaining screws from the instrument cluster bezel (surround) then unclip it from the dash. As you withdraw the bezel, disconnect the wires from the luggage compartment switch and trip computer, if you have them. Remove the four mounting screws from the instrument cluster assembly and withdraw the cluster. Disconnect the multi-plugs from the cluster. BE SURE to keep the cluster in the UPRIGHT POSITION to keep any silicone fluid from leaking from the gauges. Hope this helps out. Good luck!

Need to replace instrument cluster/AC bulbs

Hello, You can obtain a 2004 Ram Factory Service Manual with all of that information available from Promanuals.net. The reason why it may be so important is because right before the removal instructions the service manual has diagnostic instructions to try. There are numerous pages on removing the instrument cluster, and cluster bezel.

(1) Disconnect and isolate the battery negative
cable. (For Airbag)

(2) Remove the cluster bezel from the instrument
panel. (Refer to 23 - BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/
CLUSTER BEZEL - REMOVAL).

(3) Remove the four screws that secure the instrument
cluster to the instrument panel structural support
(Fig. 5).

(4) Pull the instrument cluster rearward far
enough to access and disconnect the instrument
panel wire harness connectors for the cluster from
the connector receptacles on the back of the cluster
housing.

(5) Remove the instrument cluster from the instrument
panel.

How to replace corolla dashboard lights

Difficult to explain step by step. You need yo remove the instrument cluster. If youre technically minded its not very hard, start by loosening the Phillip"s head screws that is visible on the panel directly under the instrument cluster, give it a try!

Phillip

Check engine light does not turn on at all

The bulb is probably loose and/or burnt out. If you are mechanically inclined you can tackle this job... This procedure is the one i use, most often it's the blue high beam indicator bulb that goes so if you want to change it while your in there.....(hint hint)
Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Wait a good 2 minutes to allow for air bag deactivation...NOTE: USE CAUTION ...Lower the tilt wheel to lowest position.
Remove the cluster bezel from the instrument panel.
Remove the two screws that secure the upper mounting tabs of the instrument cluster to the underside of the instrument cluster hood formation of the instrument panel top pad.
Remove the two screws that secure the lower mounting tabs of the instrument cluster to the instrument panel structural duct.
Pull the upper mounting tabs of the instrument cluster downward, then pull the instrument cluster rearward far enough to access the instrument panel wire harness connector for the instrument cluster. Disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector for the instrument cluster from the connector receptacle on the back of the instrument cluster housing.
Remove the instrument cluster from the instrument panel. Now do you remember which bulb it was? You can now see where the check engine light bulb is mounted. Twist and remove, install in reverse order. In some cases they are just loose or not making good ground, but after going through this just to access that lil bugger, i'd replace it.
I hope i have helped you and if you feel i have please acknowledge.
Be well and keep the cherokees alive....
