I have 2001 city golf. While im driving i dont have any problem but then all of a sudden the car start shaking almost like its not getting petrol to the engin. we have done the hole cleaning of the petrol tank the pipes and new filter. we even replaced the petrol pump with a electrical pump.. there is no problem with the spark plugs and the cap. the base plate is also fine..So what can iit be? Please help

you may need to ran a diagnosis and check fault codes and lives data (engine rpm)

get the OBD read as will give a code for any faulty sensors etc

Check the fuel pressure.

Carb may have dirt in the float valve preventing it from fully shutting off. May require carb rebuild and new fuel filter.

I am driving VW Citi golf sport 1.4i,every morning whn is cold my car couldn't start, after many attempts it would and when I try to accelerate it will choke. After buying the temperature sensor my problem was solved. the mechanics advised me to buy petrol filter and petrol gauge regulator and a petrol pump, thanks I didn't buy them. Only a temperature sensor made my car a comfortable drive.

Hi i need help my mk1 golf carb starts and idle fine but as the car idle and enjin is getting hot then she just jerk and cut out then start it again it starts fine but idle for aboutfew sec then cut out again..i unplug the temp sensor problem remain petrol filter new new plugs and plug wires new boch distributor...plus 1/2 tank of feul...what els can i try any help..can this be electrical problem or what all my fuses checked and is fine any help pls

okay start hear turn key three times in a row there should here the fule pump prime ie a whizing noise you may not here this so now check the dash look for engine light it might flash if it dose it might be a code this is stored in the computer in your car .now this is where it gets tricky you need a code reader.but now what is the fact the year of the car and is it flueinjected tbi or carb and what year im not saying im a expert there a lot to go over start with check your manule then all ie oil coolent the right way by the book''''''I think it:is a seneser oil or coolent if the vw golf is 82 or newer but it dose matter what country the is in .in germany from 1975 the vw rabbit was a golf so it would help to know but find vw dealer there not cheep but they know golf I will say this if you smell petrol do not srart the car look for a leak if you find one fix it now dont wait it will cause a fire

the componts in the ignition switch might be worn out and might not be making contack all the time
