Question about 1993 Chevrolet Lumina

1 Answer

Oxygen sensor? My '93 Euro sedan has over 225,000 miles and has been excellent. However, just today it has started to have troubles going up a long steep hill i must drive to work each day. When I hit the gas the revs jump and the car downshifts, but there is no power and I slow. I checked all fluids, and the trans was down about 1/2 pint, but adding did not fix the trouble. My brother-in-law suggest the oxy sensor might be the trouble, though I don't know how.

You might want to see if your cadilatic converters pluged alot of times that will cause too much back pressure if a check engine light came on than it might be your oyxgen sensor if not chances its something else but most likley its your catilatic converter
either wise you can check your plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, cap and rotor if it has one and even check the coil.

Dodge cummins tow haul stays on

Hi, I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500, 5.9 Cummins with 225,000 miles. Just today, my Haul/Tow keeps coming on and Trans/Temp light. Keeps automatically switching in and out on its own. It's been 100,000 miles since my last trans maintenance. Going to a mechanic close and he suggested to start with fluid change, filter change, and inspect the band, maybe adjust. Trans runs very smoothly. Checked the fluid, looks clean and not hot. Is this common with this year and mileage? If so, whats normally the out come? If the band is bad, do I have to replace the entire trans?

I have a 93 escort and it lost power every once in a while and ran rough at other times. The solution was to replace the oxygen sensor. It has run excellant for the last 45,000 miles now.
