Question about 1998 Oldsmobile Bravada
You probably have electronic climate control. Some models have this others have a vacumn operated system. If the vac system the part is about $50-100 aftermarket and easy to do yourself. If elec the part is available dealer only and about $200 last I checked. Your problem is the blend door. This is located on the pass sd under the dash. Starte your car and look under the dash in the back you will see the steel shaft rotate. The problem is GM put a plastic gear in the motor and it does not last. This is hard to get to but you can do it without taking out the whole box. 2 screws to take off then just lift off. Easier to get off than put back on. Hard to believe people buy Toyota and Nissan. This should have been a recall but, I guess if it can't kill you the U.S. is not going to do anything about it. Hope this helps. P.s. There is a small chance that it is the assembly that controls the door motor. This is your actual controls on the dash. Go get a used one from a junkyard for $40 very easy to install 20 minutes.
