What do I do after changeing the thermastat on a 2004 pontiac grand prix gt

For thermostat replacement step by step instructions with pics-

The pics as shown are for a GP model, but the GTP shares the same block so the thermostat is in the same place.

Your model year may require a gasket instead of an optional "o" ring. Buy one before you start and when you pull it apart, see if it has a gasket. -If so replace it, if not return the unused part.

Hope this helps. "G"

Tricks to replacing rear brake pads, 2004 new beetle convertible. Caliper piston won't retract back into caliper. Using "C" clamp to retract (push) piston. Won't move back. Pushing pedal slightly moves it...

Notice the Two holes on the caliper piston face? They receive the pins of a special tool that turns and presses in at the same time to collapse the piston. You may be able to approximate the effect with a pair of needle nose pliers or such and turn & press in. The right tool works best.

Rear brakes mini cooper

You rent (or buy) a piston retractor tool. It screws the piston back in place. I found mine for around $50. Saves a lot of time and aggrevation to use the tool.

Rear brakes 2004 pontiac gp

On the rear calipers you need to screw the piston back into place. There is a tool nicknamed a rubik's cube. That will plug into the piston and you hook up a 3/8 inch ratchet and screw it back in while pushing inward.
