I need tail lights for a 1989 Toyota Van, is there other Toyotas that have the same tail light housing that would fit the van?

Open the tailgate and look at the brake light. Notice in the black plastic area there are 2 small slits. Use a flat head screw driver in each of these slits to access the 2 phillips head screws. Loosen them and then you sorta just pull it out from there. be careful not to break anything.

The tail lamps are screwed on with nuts. When the tailgate is opened, you can see where the screws, that are holding on the lights, are located.

How do i access the rear signal bulb for a 2005 blazer?

If this is a Blazer and not a newer design Trailblazer...
Open up the tailgate / ;iftgate and there are screws on the inside surface of the tail lamp assemble. Remove the screws and then pop out the tail lamp to gain access to the connector for your signal bulb. Twist the connector to remove from lamp assembly. remove and replace bulb.

How do you replace a brake light?

serjoijr: To replace the bulb, you must remove the tail lamp housing.
Open the tailgate. There are two screws which retain the lamp housing to the body. You can see them when you open the tail gate, One is near the top and one is near the bottom. They are a phillips head type screw.
Remove both screws and pull the lamp housing directly backwards. DO NOT TWIST IT TO THE SIDE! The housing has a pin on the opposite side which interlocks with the body, keeping it in place on that side.
Once you have pulled the housing away from the body, you will see the lamp sockets and wiring harness. These sockets usually rotate to one side or another to interlock with the housing. Once the socket is removed, you can replace the bulb and return the housing back to the original spot.

Yup after removing the 2 screws, there is a round plastic tap.
you need to pop the light housing back and outward with a flat screwdriver. wrapped electrical tape on the flat end to avoid scratching the paint.

Removing rear light assembly on honda odyssey 2006

Yes, there is a "spear point" plastic clip that is still engaged into a socket type holder in the front outboard portion of the tail lamp assembly. Pry gently with a tape wrapped screwdriver at the front outboard corner of the assembly and the clip will release. You will then be able to see how the clip works and will be able to align and engage it first when replacing the tail lamp assembly.

Brake light work fine as longs as the head lights are off. Once you turn on the head lights the brakes with the exception of the center light on top.

Check the bulb sockets, it is common on these vans that water gets into the bulb sockets and shorts out the socket. You may need to replace the sockets to get them to work again. Also check the bulbs as these are dual filament bulbs, when your lights are off and you step on the brake it lights the parking lamp filament. However as the lights are on the brake lights may seem to not work as the parking lamps are already on.
