1994 Mazda Navajo - Transmission wont shift to 2nd or 3rd(intermittent) until you let off gas. Also slips out of 2nd back to 1st sometimes immediately.

Go for the manual they are easier ti repair.

Driving down the highway speed about 65, transmmision starts to slip, now it wont go into 2nd and 3rd gear, wouldnt even speed up to 25 to go into 2nd gear.. 3ard gear, but does go into reverse

Check the fluid, with the motor in park.

95 Mercury Mystique seems to be misfiring around 2000 and 3000 rpm. When I push down on the gas, it jumps or pops when it revs up to 3000 rpm. And it also seems the gears do not catch once I pass 2000 rpm...

Could be the transmission.Make sure it is full of fluid. Hold your foot on the brake and give it some gas with the other foot. If you feel a miss, then it is a miss fire.

that transmission has a computer control unit
transmission combined with the EFI system

supposed to match that unit with the transmission fitted
or diagnostic scanner to reset the modules

Tranny problem 1st gear wont work really and its hard to get 2nd gear but 3rd,4th,and 5th work fine plus reverse works fine. do i need to replace the clutch? or is it sumthing else that wont let me get in...

There is problem in the gearbox.The sincronizers for a first & second gear are on the same gearswitch.Need to change them.Forget about the clutch.

Slight miss in engine, hard shift from 1st to 2nd long 2nd gear

Check both O2 sensor(s) and catalytic coverter.. P0420 means catalyst below threshold. Also check the sensor at the transmission and solenoid.

The likely problem is the VSS or vehicle speed sensor. The transmission uses the speed from the speed sensor to determine the shift points. You should have the check engine light on it will probably show a code for the speed sensor. Hope this helps!
