Does it turn over and not start or nothing happens when you turn the key?

Car will start and cut right off

When it won't start you will need to check for spark and fuel pressure to figure out if you are dealing with the ignition system or fuel system.
Is the check engine light on when the engine is running ?

Vehicle was parked and not started for 2 months.

Hi, there will be diodes in the generator that are letting the power from the battery drain away through the parked times when not in use. to prove it charge the battery- then disconnect the negative terminal on the battery, connect 24 hours later and see if the battery as kept it charge, if so - fit new alternator, good luck.

Starts well, runs wellfor five mins but then cuts

My first guess would be the fuel filter. It is probably almost completely plugged.

sounds like you might have damaged the fuel delivery system a lot of people dont realize just how bad running out gas is for your car it could be a number of things it could be the fuel pump, the carb or injectors not quite sure what your car has but either way the best thing to do is to take it to a shop and have them look at it

Starts with boost then car dies after 1 km and won't start

once the car is started it runs off the alternator .. so even if your battery is bad the alternator will still run the car .. so it looks lilke your alternator is bad .. when you jumped the car you charged the battery a little but not enough to keep it going since the alternator is not charging . if you hook up a charger overnight then you might be able to run it long enough to get somewhere (garage) .. try to drive when you dont need lights .. those will run down the battery in a short time .. if you have a volt meter then the battery should read about 13.8 to 14.2 volts when the alternator is working properly (car running) .. if it reads lower (like 12volts or less) then the alternator is not charging .. some auto parts stores will test your system free ..
