Question about 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport
Is there any way of finding out which codes are on the car witout taking it to a dealership etc?
There is a port under the steering wheel, closer to the driver side door. go to any auto store (i.e. Advance Auto, Autozone, etc...) and for FREE, they will lone you an OBD 1 or 2, whichever your vehicle requires. Plug it into the port, turn your key (but don't start it) and the handheld device will read the code, and tell you what the problem is. the professionals at the auto store should be able to help you with whatever the problem is, and be able to tell you if you're able to fix it yourself.

There is a code reader at most auto parts stores, however it's more cost effective to take it to a shop. dealerships are pricey so my advice to you is to take it to an independant shop the cost savings will benefit you

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
