2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport 135,000. 3 issues. 1). I have a small oil leak somewhere, I check the levels but never seem to need to add any. I smell burnt oil when I walk by the vehicle after driving. 2)....

on the oil leak issue, i would check the valve covers to see if the oil is coming from there, these have a tendecy to leak on high mileage vehichles, also check the oil sending unit, i believe this is located close to your oil filter, also, check the oil pan gasket for leakage, some of these leak in the front of the pan, under the water pump area, on the coolant issue, check all of the hose connections to make sure it is not leaking from 1 of them, if they check out ok, i would check the oil on the oil dip stick to make sure that it is not foamy, or whiteish looking, if so, coolant is getting into the oil, this could be a blown head gasket, or intake manifold gasket leaking, or cracked cylinder, hope that this information has helped you, and also hope that the problem is a minor one to fix.

You have a leak in the radiator and it's not holding coolant. The coolant is evaporating through this leak and is causing the car to overheat. It doesn't matter how much you fill the radiator it will not hold any coolant/water until the radiator is repaired. Good Luck!!!

My 01 VW Cabrio has a leak.

It's either a bad hose or a bad radiator. You'll just have to isolate exactly where the coolant is coming from to be sure. In any case, it needs to be fixed ASAP if it's as bad as you indicate or you will permanently damage the engine.

Flashing Temp indicator light, when running for 5 minutes on a cool morning.

I had this problem with my 2002 Cabrio. You have a coolant leak somewhere. At first I thought it was the surface pipes, changed those and it would still be low every time I checked. ( the clear bubble at the top right under the hood ) So later found out it was leaking through my heater core which uses the coolant as well. Shouldn't be to expensive just a few tubes to change unless it is your heater core.

My 2001 dodge durango is overheating an leaking coolant from a round plug type thing in the corner on the passenger side near the windshield

What exactly is the "round plug type thing" near the firewall [passenger side]? Is it a sensor of some type? I, too, have a coolant leak here on my 2001 Durango; its tucked in rather tightly near the hood/firewall corner. My electric fan is not kicking on; vehicle overheated tonight. (4.7 liter)
