This is a trans range switch code, try this: on top of the transmission, by the selector lever, there is the range switch, remove the electrical connector to the switch and clean the terminals inside the connector, add some dielectric gears to the terminals (avail at any parts store), and reconnect. Disconnect negative battery terminal for 60 sec., reconnect switch, drive the car a few d ays and see if MIL light come on again.

08 suzuki forenza parts store said replace bank 1 o2 sensor. did that the check engine light came on again after 1.5 days, parts store said same thing. what could it be?

And you listened to that non sense?

I would guess they just told you what the code was

They sell parts, they don't diagnose & test vehicles

You said it misfires,--SO-- Cylinder Misfires, that is why you
got the O2 Sensor Codes when the Emission Monitors ran,
or you got misfires on start up or later, that set the fault light

You obviously got cylinder misfires counts, if you have
a shop do the proper work needed, you resolve the issue

You need to study OBD 2 Vehicle Systems

The engin light is service soon part pv154

P0154 is an OBDII code for a 'lazy' O2 sensor, it is not switching fast enough for the ECU to adjust parameters when managing your engine-you probably are over 100,000 miles now, they get a coating on them that makes them react slower than expected-time to replace, they run about $50 and are pretty easy to change.

My check engine light is on.

Are you talking about a V8? Bank one is left side (drivers side) #1 piston is front of engine. My experience with O2 and Cats is go to a muffler shop off beaten path. Don't go to a big chain outfit. Ask a mechanic where he would take his car. They will be honest and check your cat for free. Cats wear out, O2 sensor should last around 60,000 mi. unless your fuel control system is bad and sends too much fuel contaminating cats and O2 sensors. But a 2006 should not need either of these things. I believe by Federal law cats are warranted for 7-10 years? Ask around. I bought my own OBDII scanner. You can read your own "check engine" light. You'll know if you're being led astray!

I have a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country with almost 100,000 miles. The check engine light came on about 2 months ago and the code said the O2 sensors needed to be replaced. About a month later, the...

there are no codes that say replace O2 sensors,or remove converter,Thats just somebody's guessing,When it says O2 sensor that tells the mechanic to look for trouble in that area, wiring or faulty readings,And there are four O2 sensors.

Engine warning light on Mazda MPV 2002

There seem to be 4 sensors along the way in the air intake and emissions system.

My Check Engine light indicated a bad sensor 1, bank 2 code (I think).

I had my mechanic replace the sensor that was indicated as faulty... cost = $191.

Then the Check Engine light came on again (with a different code), and I had to leave the van with him all day.

Cost to replace and install that sensor = $115.

My advice: if the Check Engine light stays on *AND* your vehicle is riding rough, get it fixed.

Otherwise, put a piece of tape over that Check Engine light and save a couple hundred dollars!

Hope this helps, I do trust my mechanic fully.

When driving the car cold about 10 minutes later the car will kick meduim hard , and the engine light will come on, and then it will be stuck in 3rd gear, but it only does it when the enginge light is on. codes p0720 and p1529 are what I got with the obd2 reader. the P0720 is for the output shaft speed sensor. The sensor was replaced and the computer was reset with the obd2 code reader, but the engine light came back on and I got the same codes, also car kick the same way, What can I do to fix the problem.

I have a 2001 Santa Fe and the Engine light is lit and has been for many years. When I took the vehicle for the State Inspection I was told that the Co2 needed to be changed so the light would come off and...

The best thing to do is go to Auto Zone and get your Hyundai scanned for a DTC code. That would tell us which O2 sensor has gone bad. You have three O2 sensors and one of them has gone bad, the O2 sensor sends signals to the ecm to control the air fuel mixture so it will not run to rich or to lean which is causing you to fail the state inspection. Good luck and keep me posted on what the DTC codes are, be glad to help.
