How to change the heater regulator?

heater core in trailblazer is a very complicated procedure. It involves disabling the air bag system and removing the entire dash (actually tilting it back against seat) to access the heater core box. It also involves removing some parts under the hood to release it from the firewall.

The Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) in this model year have been known to hang up, try pulling fuse #48 (4WD) in the rear fuse panel located under the left rear seat. Reinstall fuse and see if everything works OK, if not, you probably need to replace the TCCM.

did you check the VEH STOP fuse? #34, 15 amps, in the rear fuse block, under the left rear seat.

Check for vacuum leak under dash to heater control vacuum harness, or anything connected to it. Commonly disturbed by stereo installation Could also cause a rough idle. Leak could also be found between manifold and vacuum junction to heater control under hood.

Needs to be reprogrammed with a TECH 2 at a GM dealer.
