Using a volt meter..a good automotive battery reads about 12v to 13.8v and while engine is operating voltage reading from the charging system to the battery is around 14v..before starting the car,a voltage reading 10v lower indicates a dead batter.

if battery was left uncharged the battery will go bad. suggest removing battery charge and take to auto store and have them test battery all major chain auto stores will test for free

Dying Alternator Honda dx 99

first of all since you have a hand held i figure you have a volt meter. locate battery wire to the back of your alternator while eng running test output voltage of alt. if less than 13.25v replace ( not with a autozone unit ) actually it should say 14.-16.v im glad you had your battery load tested. lets fix the charging system first of all at that point we will go from there.
