I also have a 97 Grand Cherokee, started acting up a while ago with the need to cycle the key a few times to prime fuel for start up. Now I have developed very rough idle, especially with foot on brake in gear. Smooths out and runs great when I get over1K rpm's. Also getting engine code 43 for misfire in cylinders. Does this all add up to a pressure regulator issue??
Any advise/input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, sounds like a bad fuel pressure regulator. a bad regulator will cause it to misfire and idle rough. also does it run good at higher rpm if it does i would be 80% sure that would be your problem

I have a 2006 grand cherokee. Sometimes without warning when I come to a stop (after driving with no lights, warning, etc.) My truck hesitates when I accelerate. The rpm's go all the way up, and my truck...

could be a bad idle control valve. causing idle surge and rise and stick open to allow a large vacuum leak in your manifold which would cause those Symptoms of rough acceleration and loss of power similar to a missfire.

My 1997 Jeep grand cherokee is running real rough when I accelerate. Now while driving it it keeps stopping but will start right back up? help???

check the cables of the spark plugs, some times it occurs that the cables get loose from its plastic retainers and touch any metal in the engine, causing missfire of the related spark plug, hence rough running of the engine. Put all cables on the retainers making sure none touches the bare metal of the engine. That should help.
