Disassemble the paneling on left side ,under the steering wheel. Remove all screws and pull out the panel until you can reach behind it to remove the two Black Relays, on the side closest to Steering wheel. Remove the Relay covers, Clean the contacts with a 1/8 fine strip of 600 wet/dry sand paper. Only place the paper between the contacts, and pull out while holding slight pressure on the relay Armature. Turn over the sandpaper and repeat once again. Very gently press the TOP resting contact pad closer to the armature, to lessen the gap between the contact points, so the armature doesn't have to travel as far to reach the closed contact position. Repeat the above with the 2nd Relay. Replace the covers, reinstall the relays And test the Door locks prior to buttoning up the paneling. Note, a pair of long needle nosed pliers will help in removing the relays. Just Grip the relay and rock in Forward and Backward as you apply upward pressure.

1997 850 volvo, when i manually open door with key, the car won't start and lights flash....so now only use the remote, Now remote won't work - had new battery in remote- suggestions on how to lock doors?

Try this trick, push the lock button once your in the car to unlock first then lock then unlock again, your kill switch is activated as anyone could unlock the door with a key, but to be linked together via bluetooth remote is exclusive and good practice if you choose to stop a thief

Power lock

check door locks fuses and relays.if all is good and you cant operate door lock buttons manually problem could be in the generic electronic module.if door locks dont work from the remote battery could be dead in remote transmitter.try to reset door locks control module first obtain all remote transmitter.sit inside vechicle with all doors closed.switch ignition from off to on 8 times in 10 seconds. doors should lock then unlock.when this procedure works then press any button on any of the remote transmitter doors should lock and unlock.if all fails let dealership fix..

Driver side door locking with remote but will not unlock, if i unlock it with key then remote will unlock all other door, if all doors are locked remote will not unlock the car. Once i manually unlock...

it is not the actuators, try a different remote, you may have an issue with the car security system/body computer not functioning on the unlock driver door command, one press of remote is unlock driver door and 2 presses is unlock the other doors.

I had to break in my car and now my theft system is on and i cant start my car

Depending on the system you have installed... There is a reset procedure that must be done... It entails you first using the remote to lock the doors then get into the car by unlocking the door with the key get in the car and lock the doors, turn the key on, then off, manually unlock the door, open it exit the car after manually locking the doors. Close the doors... next unlock the door with the remote and all should be well. If not disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and retry. Hope this works

Lock then unlock the doors with the power lock button, with all doors closed (key not in ignition). If this doesnt work, try again using the key to lock and unlock from the driver door, with all doors closed.
