I just went through the same thing. You multi function switch is either all gobbed up with grease and it may possibly help to uninstall it, clean it back up and reinstall, or the second solution, which was unfortunately my fix, was to replace the dang thing.
The excess grease they put on during installation shorts out the switch when reacting with metal shavings that may get mixed in with wear and tear.
Here is a complete illustration with pics on how to take it out, hope this help

Do you mean the running lights on your car like the parking lights when the headlights are off? look at your knob for turning on your lights and see if they are turned all the way off. some cars have knobs that have another knob that surrounds it and is part of the entire light switch and if you don't turn off that particular other knob along with the entire light switch your lights stay on. I don't know what else to tell you other than, dealer.
